Coastal Sand Works, formerly known as Beach Masonizing, started in 1987 by John Della Pia, Sr., to help provide beach maintenance, sand grading & beach grooming. We serve Pinellas County beaches from
St Petersburg Beach all the way to Belleair Beach.
Grandpa John
Grandpa John moved from Middletown, NY and originally owned a big wheel pedal and fiberglass pedal boat rental company and a Panama Jack shack; where Grandma Eleanor sold Panama Jack sunblocks and oils on Madeira Beach. In 1987, he started Beach Masonizing, seeing the needs of resorts, condominiums, city municipalities and private homes,
with beach grooming and maintenance services.
Our Dad, John
Grandpa John's son, John, retired from the Air Force after 27 years of service in 1990 and came to Florida to be with his newly widowed father. He started helping Grandpa with Beach Masonizing and when Grandpa was ready to retire, Our dad, John, took over the company with this sons, John (yes, we have a lot of them in the family), and David. David can still be found driving the tractors on the beach. Tina, the eldest of John's children, is also helping behind the scenes.
